Education plans for schools
Plan ALLO for teachers, students, classes, quotes, seats, storage, and urgent school events.
Schools need a setup that matches the class, not just the checkout screen
ALLO can be used by schools, teachers, classes, workshops, and education teams, but the right plan depends on how the school will actually use the workspace. A small teacher team planning lessons has a different billing shape from a public class where dozens of students only need to join a single canvas for one day.
Use this article when you need an education plan, a school quote, a custom school term, or help deciding whether teachers, students, and guests should be full workspace members.

Decide who needs a workspace seat
A seat is paid capacity for a full workspace member. Teachers, staff, teaching assistants, and long-term collaborators often need workspace seats because they create canvases, manage projects, upload files, invite people, and keep access after the class ends.
Students do not always need full workspace seats. If students only need to open one canvas for a class activity, review, or public lesson, a shared canvas or guest collaboration setup is cleaner than inviting every student as a workspace member. If students need ongoing access to the workspace, multiple classes, private projects, or long-term editing, plan seats for them.
Before buying seats, ask:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Who will create and own class materials? | Those people usually need workspace membership. |
| Who only needs to join one canvas? | Shared canvas access may be enough. |
| Will students return after the class? | Ongoing access may need seats and member management. |
| Who can manage billing and invites? | A teacher should not be blocked because the billing admin is unavailable during class. |
| Is this a public event? | Urgent classes need capacity, sharing, and storage checked before the session starts. |
Use Manage seat limits when a workspace already shows an over-seat warning.
Plan storage before the class starts
Class work can create more storage than expected. A single public lesson can produce screenshots, PDFs, images, video references, student uploads, and duplicate files across several canvases. Storage add-ons are recurring workspace billing add-ons, not one-time class passes and not AI credits.
If the workspace is near the storage limit before a class, do not wait until students are in the room. Open Billing, check the current usage, and choose whether to clean up files, upgrade the plan, or buy a storage add-on. If the storage warning is blocking an urgent public lesson, use Fix storage limits and include the class date and time when contacting support.
Use Buy storage add-ons when the plan is otherwise right but the workspace needs more file capacity.
Request an education quote
For an education quote, contact sales@allo.io or open Customer Support from the app. Include enough detail for ALLO to recommend the right plan.
Send:
| Detail | Example |
|---|---|
| School or organization name | The official school, district, department, or program name. |
| Use case | Lesson planning, design class, public workshop, student collaboration, teacher workspace. |
| Number of teachers or staff | The likely full workspace member count. |
| Number of students or guests | The class size and whether students need ongoing access. |
| Term length | Monthly, annual, semester, seven months, or a specific event window. |
| Storage needs | Expected file-heavy work, videos, PDFs, images, or existing quota warning. |
| AI usage | Whether the class needs AI Studio or other AI credit usage. |
| Billing documents | Quote, receipt, invoice, local tax document, or procurement form if required. |
| Deadline | The class start date, purchasing deadline, or event date. |
If you need a quote, receipt, invoice, or local billing document, see Invoices, receipts, and quotes.
Example: five teachers need annual access
A high school has five teachers who will use ALLO all year to plan lessons and run class activities. In that case, the school should start with the number of teacher seats, decide whether students need full workspace access or shared canvas access, and choose a billing interval that matches the school year.
If procurement needs a quote before purchase, contact Sales with the five teacher seats, expected student count, annual term, and any billing document requirements. If the teachers already created a workspace and hit a seat or storage warning, include the workspace name so support can connect the quote conversation to the real workspace state.
Example: a middle school is comparing education options
A middle school asking whether it needs an education plan, Edu Pro style capacity, or a standard business plan should describe the class pattern first. The important difference is not the label on the plan. It is whether the school needs more teacher seats, student access, storage, AI credits, support for a fixed term, or documents for school purchasing.
Send the class size, teacher count, number of canvases or projects, storage expectations, and whether students will sign in with school emails. ALLO can then recommend whether a standard paid workspace plan is enough or a managed education agreement is better.
Example: a public lesson is blocked today
If a public lesson is blocked by seats or storage, treat it as an urgent operations issue. First, confirm that you are in the correct workspace and that an admin can open Billing. If checkout is available, add the needed seats or storage and refresh the workspace after checkout.
If Billing shows Contact Sales, the billing admin is unavailable, the payment method fails, or the class starts soon, open Customer Support and include:
| Detail | Why |
|---|---|
| Workspace name | Support needs the exact billing workspace. |
| Class date and time | Urgency changes the support path. |
| Current warning | Seat, storage, payment, trial, or another blocker. |
| Number of participants | Helps decide whether seats or sharing is the problem. |
| Affected canvas link | Support can see whether this is a sharing issue or a billing limit. |
| Admin availability | Support may need an authorized owner or billing admin. |
Education billing is still workspace billing
Plan, seats, invoices, storage add-ons, AI credit packs, and payment methods belong to the workspace. If a teacher belongs to multiple workspaces, the school plan applies only to the selected workspace.
For plan changes, use Change a plan. For payment recovery, use Fix a payment issue. For quotes or school purchasing documents, contact sales@allo.io or Customer Support.
