Understand the 14-day paid-plan trial
Learn why a new workspace shows a 14-day trial, what it includes, whether you will be charged, and what happens when it ends.
The banner counts down a paid-plan trial
When you create a new workspace in ALLO, it starts with a 14-day trial of a paid plan. 14 days left in trial means that the workspace can use that paid plan for 14 more days. It does not describe canvas version history or how long ALLO keeps edits.
The trial belongs to the workspace, not to each person in it. Inviting another member does not start another 14-day period. If you belong to several workspaces, each workspace can have a different plan or billing state.
You do not need a payment method to start
The new-workspace trial does not require a credit card, and ALLO does not automatically charge you when the 14 days end. A workspace admin starts a paid subscription only by choosing a plan and completing checkout.
During the trial, the workspace uses the features and limits of the paid plan shown in Billing. Check Billing to see which plan is currently applied to that workspace.
What happens after 14 days
If an admin upgrades before the trial ends, the workspace moves to the chosen paid subscription and the trial ends. Review the plan, license count, billing interval, and amount in checkout before confirming.
If nobody upgrades, the workspace moves to Free after the trial ends. Free limits then apply, so a paid feature or capacity used during the trial may no longer be available. ALLO does not turn the expired trial into a paid subscription by itself.
The trial is workspace-wide. A workspace can have multiple admins, and every workspace admin can open the full Billing controls and complete an upgrade. Other members can see the countdown, but they do not see the Billing menu.
Check the plan or continue with a paid subscription
- Switch to the workspace that shows the trial banner.
- Open Workspace settings → Billing.
- Check the plan name and trial end date.
- Open Pricing to compare current plans and limits.
- If the workspace should keep paid access, choose a plan and complete checkout before the trial ends.
Do not confuse the trial with version history
The same number can appear in unrelated parts of ALLO. A banner that says 14 days left in trial is about the workspace's paid-plan trial. Canvas version history is a separate feature for reviewing and restoring earlier canvas states, and its retention period follows the workspace plan.
If the banner shows the wrong remaining time, the wrong plan, or still shows an active trial after its end date, refresh the workspace and reopen Billing. If the state is still wrong, contact support with the workspace name, plan shown in Billing, and exact banner text.
